Furniture nowadays is made of various type of materials from aluminum to iron and even plastic. But for the people with a superior taste, the wood is always the best option. Wooden furniture is generally more long lasting and timeless. Readymade furniture doesn’t provide much pick over the kind of wood that is used but custom cabinetry gives you the option to select the material according to your liking. But the type of wood that should be opted depends on a number of things, for example the usage and the place. A chair maker will use a another type of wood for the chairs while a cabinet maker will prefer some other one. In custom furniture, the preference changes highly with respect to the space that the furniture is going to occupy. Pinewood
Pine is softwood that is generally available in various parts of the world. There are many different kinds of pine like Ponderosa Pine and sugar Pine. Both types of wood are used in furniture making. Pine is usually yellow in color. It is extensively used in making plywood and veneer. Pine is known for its beautiful knots.
Cedar
Cedar is another softwood used for furniture making. One very unique characteristic of cedar is its sweet aroma. This aroma makes it a very preferable for making chests and drawers as it repels moths and insects and also aromatizes the things kept inside.
Other than these types there are several more kinds of wood, each with distinct features and usage. Plywood, veneer and MDF (Multiple density fiber are rather man made woods made by layers or laminates of other natural woods. In some cases the usage of these woods is better than using the natural wood.
