Pine is softwood that is commonly found in many parts of the world. There are several kinds of pine like Ponderosa Pine and sugar Pine. Both types of wood are used in furniture making. Pine is mostly yellow in color. It is widely used in making plywood and veneer. Pine is known for its beautiful knots.

Cedar

Cedar is also softwood used for furniture making. One very unique quality of cedar is its sweet aroma. This aroma makes it a very favorable for making chests and drawers as it fends off moths and insects and also perfumes the things kept inside.

Moreover there are numerous more kinds of wood, each with different features and uses. Plywood, veneer and MDF (Multiple density fiber are rather man made woods using layers or laminates of other natural woods. In some conditions the usage of these woods is better than using the natural wood.
