Adding Bookends to Your Book Shelves

As shelves began to fill up, books had a tendency to lean into each other, falling off the shelves at the ends. Basically, supports were devised to keep the books securely in place when not in use, and so brought in the birth of these practical and necessary tools.

As shelves gradually became wider and taller, book supports began to gain popularity as a way of keeping these books looking neat and in place. They were designed to be of a specific weight and size in order to be able to hold the books in place without giving way no matter how long the stack could be.

Many types of Brass Bookends have different styles such as those based on certain themes like sports, entertainment, characters, and so on. Others have made their way into a home simply because they make a great accent for a certain room, especially those that match interior design concepts like art deco, modern, romantic, or rustic styles.
